World of sound

Experience both familiar and unexpected sounds in this exhibition. Close your eyes and listen: you might hear people talking or birds singing, the wind rustling through the trees, a train or a plane. There is almost always some sound around you. We don’t notice it every day, but our hearing tells us a lot about the world. Our ears can detect a wide range of sounds, from low to high and from soft to loud. But did you know that most of the sounds around you go unnoticed? And in the vacuum of space, there is no sound at all.
