Netherlands is densely populated, which puts increasing pressure on nature. Roads, buildings and fences break up the landscape into smaller pieces, making it harder for animals such as the Eurasian red deer, badger and great bittern to find food, move between areas or breed. Many natural areas have become isolated, almost like islands.
In this exhibition, you explore possible solutions such as ecological wildlife bridges (ecoducts), wildlife tunnels and the creation of new natural areas. These measures help reconnect fragmented habitats and support the preservation of biodiversity in the Netherlands and across Europe.
