Join National Geographic photographer Carsten Peter on an extraordinary journey as he photographs the edges of active volcanoes in Indonesia, descends to dangerous lava lakes in Vanuatu, and explores geysers in Ethiopia. We also visit the ancient city of Pompeii, which was completely buried during a prolonged volcanic eruption in AD 79. The journey continues deep beneath the ocean, where we explore hydrothermal vents before experiencing the impact of the 2018 Kīlauea eruption in Hawaiʻi.
