Create your own seed bombs
Create your own seed bombs
Spring is in full swing outside! Will you help the wild bees with these seed bombs? ๐
Step by Step
What do you need?
Small plate
Spray bottle filled with water
Tablespoon & teaspoon
Flower seeds suitable for bees (can be ordered online, e.g., from bird or nature organizations)
Compost (potting soil)
(Natural) clay (can be ordered online)
A place where you can throw the seed bombs (garden or park)
What should you do?
Place a piece of (natural) clay about the size of a ping-pong ball on your plate.
Add 5 tablespoons of compost (potting soil) to the clay.
Knead the clay and soil together well. If itโs too dry, spray a little water with the spray bottle.
Add a teaspoon of seeds.
Knead the seeds into the mixture thoroughly.
Divide the mixture into 3 pieces and roll them into neat little balls.
Let the balls dry.
Throw the seed bombs in your garden or a flower pot, but not in protected nature areas.
The seeds will grow quite quickly. Keep an eye out for wild bees visiting the flowers!
