Spacesuits and flight suits are often covered with emblems. In space travel, these are called patches. They are a kind of badge, each with its own meaning.
A patch can show which group an astronaut belongs to. Since they often belong to several groups at the same time they wear multiple patches. Astronauts also have patches with their own name. They design the shape and details of their patches themselves.
