Requirements

  • A container with different types of food: toast, a sugar cube, salted popcorn.
  • A small bottle of iodine or Betadine

Instructions

  1. Place different types of food on a small plate.
  2. Take a bottle of iodine or Betadine.
  3. Drop 1 drop of iodine onto a piece of food.
  4. Does the color change?
  5. Which foods contain starch? Which do not?
  6. Empty your plate into the trash.

  7. Wash the plate immediately.
