About the film

Asia is the largest continent on Earth and includes nearly fifty countries. It is home to vast forests, tropical seas, deserts and some of the highest mountain ranges in the world, including the Himalayas. These mountains are so immense that they influence weather systems and shape entire ecosystems.

The film follows different habitats and the animals that live there. In the Indian Ocean, sperm whales appear. On the Tibetan Plateau, foxes move among yaks. In the Himalayas, red pandas roam through the forest. In the Gobi Desert, long-eared jerboas leap across the sand.

Further north, long-tailed tits feed on frozen tree sap. Underwater, the perspective shifts to coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean, where sea slugs and groups of sharks gather during feeding events.

Wild Asia: Life at Extremes is produced by BBC Earth and created for projection on a giant dome screen. The film brings together landscapes and wildlife in a cinematic journey across Asia.
