About the movie

Water is life. Yet we sometimes forget how deep our connection with water is and how vulnerable this system actually is. In the impressive documentary Our Blue World, we dive into the stories of pioneers and thinkers who understand and harness the power of water to enable a resilient future.

From traditional water wisdom in Peru to ultra-modern “sponge cities” in China, this film shows how innovation and ancient knowledge can go hand in hand. We meet people such as Gary White (Water.org), Paul O'Callaghan (water scientist from Ireland), and Nancy Tuaine, guardian of the Whanganui River in New Zealand. Their stories inspire, move, and show that change is possible—if we dare to choose a different course.

Climate change affects us through water: drought, flooding, loss of biodiversity. Yet this film does not leave us feeling powerless, but rather hopeful. Our Blue World shows that with a small shift in awareness and behavior, we can make a difference together.

The film is part of the Brave Blue World Foundation. Brave Blue World investigates the technologies and innovations that can solve the global water crisis.
